What Makes a Star a Star, and What Happens When It Dies?

September 17, 2024 (12:30 pm)

Location: Innovation Pavilion / Huggins Science Hall, Room 173

Part of the Acadia in the Stars series.

Featuring Peter Williams and Ruben Sandapen from Acadia's Department of Physics.

Despite never having personally visited one, Peter Williams and Ruben Sandapen will share their fascinating observations on stars, what happens when they collapse and become white dwarfs, and the predictions we can make today that will take place millions of years from now.

This free, public event series is produced by the Department of Physics at Acadia and was made possible by Professor Ruben Sandapen’s Harrison McCain Foundation Visiting Professor Award and NSERC grant, as well as departmental funds.
